Jen Jones

Event Coordinator

After a successful career in technology Jennifer left the corporate world behind to start her family and this wonderful journey that has led to homeschooling. Jennifer has been homeschooling since April 2022. One of her main concerns when making the decision to homeschool, was how she would ensure her only child had sufficient opportunities to socialize and make friends. A friend who was already homeschooling solved that concern by introducing Jennifer and her son to Sticks & Stones. The first day at Sticks & Stones was one of the best socializing opportunities her son had ever had even though he had been in private and public school and lots of group activities. Sticks and Stones is such an amazing group of children of different ages, caring and helpful parents/grandparents/ guardians, fun activities and it's educational as well. As with most new adventures there have been several bumps along the road to homeschooling, but nothing so big that a good chat with fellow homeschoolers couldn't help resolve. The things Jennifer and her family love about homeschooling are the flexibility to travel and have educational adventures, as well as quality family time and more opportunities to socialize with family and friends.

When she isn't homeschooling or volunteering with Sticks and Stones you can find Jennifer preparing for her next obstacle course race, paddle boarding, camping or volunteering with the Navy League of Canada Cadets.

"If you are unsure about any aspect of homeschooling, there are so many wonderful homeschooling parents willing to help, as well as distant learning schools with excellent BC accredited teachers available to guide you as much or as little as you'd like on your child's educational journey. It takes a village to raise a child and the homeschooling village is pretty awesome." - Jen
