Jasmine Martens

Creative Director

Jasmine began her homeschooling journey in September 2022. She loves homeschooling because it allows her to tailor learning to her children’s interests. She is able to see areas of struggle and encourage them in unique ways, specific to how they learn best. She believes that everything is a learning opportunity and she loves doing life together with her children. It brings her great joy to be able to watch them bloom into their authentic selves without the conformity that comes with public school. She also loves being able to go on last minute road trips or stay up way too late without the guilt of having to wake up early or miss school.

Jasmine joined Sticks & Stones because of the opportunity that it presented for her children to build connections in the homeschool community. She loves that community members are able to bring ideas to the table and that all ideas are welcomed and celebrated! She also enjoys the weekly learning booklets that are provided.

Sticks & Stones is lucky & grateful to have Jasmine in the community. She has stepped up in such an incredible way for all of the families that attend the program, planning not only arts & crafts for the children, but also camping trips & various excursions. She volunteers her time to the group because she wants to be an involved community member and she loves seeing the pride and joy on the kid’s faces as they learn, teach and become leaders in the community.

When she’s not dedicating her time to Sticks & Stones, you can find Jasmine gardening, freezing & canning large batches of food, camping, exploring 4x4 off-road trails & lakes and going on spur of the moment adventures.

Don’t give up!  You will have bad days, and feel overwhelmed some days but these days will be trumped by good days. You may have to reconstruct what you think learning is supposed to look like if your children attended public school like mine did”. - Jasmine
