Dominke Swanson
Social Media Manager
Domineke has always loved the idea of homeschooling; however, she was intimidated and unsure of exactly how it would fit into her family's lifestyle. When the schools shut down in early 2020, that was the motivation she needed to finally peruse the path of home learning, and she never looked back. At the time, she was an office manager for over 14 years. She made the decision to stay home, and thus began her family's homeschooling journey.
Domineke believes that learning comes in all forms and enjoys the flexibility and freedom that homeschooling provides. She loves the lessons held outside on the grass or at the park, going for bike rides at break time, or taking spontaneous field trips. Domineke enjoys watching her children continue to thrive and learn, and she is very thankful to have made so many wonderful connections for her children and for herself through Sticks & Stones.
She loves spending time with her husband and two children and is grateful to be such an integral part of their education. In her spare time, you can find Domineke out in the garden, sewing, reading, or soaking up the sunshine.
"When it comes to homeschooling, it's important to do what works best for your family. Remember what your focus is, and try not to bite off more than you can chew." - Domineke
She is also the proud owner of “Josefina + Co”, a local company that creates stylish, comfortable, high-quality hair scrunchies + accessories, handmade with ♡
