Carla Broad

Director of Photography

Carla has been a photographer for the last 13 years. She loves photography because it allows her to watch other families grow while still providing her the freedom to be at home with her own babies, which has always been a goal of hers. Her photography includes weddings, family portraits, maternity & newborn shoots, and so much more.

Carla has been homeschooling for the last 8 years. She chose to homeschool because she truly believes that her purpose in life is to raise good humans.  She wants to watch them grow & learn and she loves having a hand in what & how they learn.  She loves the flexibility that homeschool affords her family - that life can slow down when you’re learning from home - that there is no rushing.  Her family enjoys big breakfasts every morning, home cooked meals every evening, and learning together through real life experiences.

Carla has been a part of Sticks & Stones since its inception. She connected with Candice over their love of homeschool, desire to grow & give back to the homeschool community, and their absurd passion for organization. She stepped up as the in-house photographer for Sticks & Stones because she recognizes that moms are often busy taking the photos of their family but are rarely included in them and so she wanted to provide moms with the opportunity to be captured in the memories with their children at the incredible events.

In her spare time, you can find Carla out on the water enjoying everything that the Okanagan has to offer, including wake-surfing with her family. She also has two French bulldogs, which recently had puppies, one of which now lives at Candice’s house!!!

“Be adaptable.  Expect a lot of your children - they are so very capable.” - Carla
